When you read the accounts of what happened to the locals in the aftermath of the clear-up that took place after the crash, You can’t help but think of the people of Roswell as subjects of the U.S. Government, in a way which proud Americans would never find acceptable under any other circumstances. Basically, military bruisers went about visiting witnesses, threatening them that if they ever spoke of what they had seen then they, and their families, would disappear. In at least one case dealt with in this book, that threat may actually have been carried out. These heavy-handed tactics put the fear of God into these folk – and it took decades before any of them would find the courage to speak up.
Even then, these witness accounts were often provided in the final days of life, when fear of the government threats no longer held the same power over the victims. The inability to talk about the Incident extended even to conversations among family members. Often such discussions were short, carried out in isolated areas, in hushed whispers. Any hints getting out into the open that items of debris might still be at large, hidden away secretly by Roswellians, was met with immediate visits by squads of soldiers who would ransack ranches (pp160-1), and issue further threats. This climate of fear and subjugation is indeed reminiscent of the fictional 1984. What happened was not allowed to have happened.
As former WW II UK Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said, history is written by the victors. In the end, the Government won. What does it matter that we now know what happened from multiple eye-witness testimony which would normally stand up in a court of law sufficient to convict a man? Carl Sagan once said “Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence”, but really there is no such thing as ‘extraordinary evidence’, just evidence. The evidence was systematically removed, the site cleansed over several years (p163), the witnesses threatened into a fearful silence, the media manipulated to accept a cover-story and, more importantly, extend a climate of ridicule about UFOs across the decades, which still persists today.

The below FBI memo states that the three flying saucers recovered in New Mexico were approximately 50 feet in diameter. In DECEMBER 1936, he was named acting head of the FBI’s Washington Field Office (WFO); he was appointed special agent in charge (SAC) the following MAY and served until MARCH 1941. Agent HOTTEL was re-appointed special agent in charge (SAC) in FEBRUARY 1943 and served until 1951, when he took a position in the Identification Division. He retired in 1955. Agent HOTTEL was married three (3) times and had two (2) sons. Following his FBI career, Agent HOTTEL served as executive secretary of the Horseman’s Benevolent Association. He died in JUNE 1990.”

I was very interested in your comments about the Priests of Karnak at the end of this marathon podcast, fellow historian. I’ve dug deep and gone down the rabbit hole for many months (or longer) on this topic. Apparently the priests (all 2nd sons and other close descendants of the Amenhoteps i-IV) by the time Amenhotep IV aka “Akhenaten” came to power, did not like the monotheism their new pharaoh introduced. Note: The bloodline of the Amenhoteps has been linked to Khazaria 10,000 BCE R1b1a2 haplogroup https://www.reuters.com/article/oukoe-uk-britain-tutankhamun-dna-idAFTRE7704OR20110801 What comes around goes around. Revenues would have been much greater with the traditional pantheon of Egyptian gods the people paid tribute to and sacrificed to. They were pissed and wanted a slice of the great big fat cheese pie they saw their brother, nephew and cousin Akhenaten in possession of. What did they do? According to archaeologist Dr Joann Fletcher (UK) the priests of Karnak stole all the pharaoh treasure of the previous 3000 years from c.1350-1300 BCE. Did they stick around in Egypt waiting to get arrested? I doubt it. I do believe the pharaoh treasure ended up in Canaan (the true Exodus) which had just newly been conquered by Tutmose III or “Tutmosis” in 1457 BCE. I speculate that “Tutmose” is the character the biblical Moses is based on, a great military leader. Archaeologists in Israel know the Hebrew exodus from Egypt never happened… No archaeological proof for a million Hebrews wandering around the Sinai Desert has ever been found. I speculate that over time, those priests saw the benefits of monotheism, particularly in the three great Abrahamic religions where I have no doubt, they positioned themselves in high places – particularly after the alliance of Julius Caesar and the Macedonian Cleopatra VII of Egypt. We then move over to the work of historian Sean Hross (South African) who now lives in Switzerland. He picks up the story in 1291 AD in Acre with the Knights Templar returning for the Jerusalem gold and immediately making their way to Switzerland with that hoard. Where did that Templar gold originally come from? Did a branch of the Priests of Karnak over the centuries morph into the Knights Templar who ended up doing deals with their brethren in other countries who took up positions of power in those respective places? – in Britain, in Saudi Arabia, in Germany (Saxe-Coburg), in North Africa, in Khazaria? Sean shows us in his videos that Egyptian iconography abounds in Switzerland; obelisks proliferate, Isis-Horus-Osiris figures are everywhere, there are pyramids in the woods and even a giant sphinx hidden among the oak trees! Banking was set up in Switzerland and the one ring that rules them all is situated right there in Basel on its own sovereign land – the same as DC, Vatican and City of London… the BIS.
